Another successful Bike!Bike!SE we’d say! Thank you to everyone who made it to Birmingham to hang out, talk about bikes, and see what we have going on. It was a pleasure meeting all of you, and if you ever want to make another trip to our side of town, be sure to hit us up! Also, thanks again to all our amazing food sponsors - Mix Bakery, Whole Foods Birmingham, Red Bike Coffee, and Barton’s Greenhouse.
We had a lot of great talks during our conference. There is a Bike Collectives Wiki for this year’s conference that we will update with info about the agenda and which cooperatives were there. Anyone can add stuff so if you have something you want to share with the group - photos, handouts, rants, etc. - add it to the page.
See everyone at Krank it Up in Tallahassee next year!
As you can see, there is a registration tab above. Click that to register for our conference! A few things to note:
We have a suggested donation of $20 for attendance. This will help offset the costs of food and other such expenses. Payment is not required for attendance, so please come regardless!
At the end of the first page of the registration form there is a question regarding whether you will need a place to stay or if you are local and would like to provide housing for those coming out of town. Based on your selection you will be sent to a following page to fill out the housing form that will fit your needs. We will do our best to provide housing to all out of town visitors. If you are in town, we believe that all of our conference attendees will be very good people and wonderful house guests, so please consider hosting one or more in your home.
We encourage you to host a talk during the conference. If you have anything you would like to present on, please add it on your registration form and we will get in touch with you to work out the details.
Events outside of the main conference will have their own associated costs, so please keep that in mind when planning your expenses. We encourage you to fundraise for this trip - it will be well worth it!
Do you know what Goldsprint is? Basically, two bikes are set up on a stand with a roller on the back wheel, and then opponents race for a 1000 m sprint. It’s insanity, epicness, drunken debauchery…and Bici Cooperative is hosting it as our conference opener at Bottletree Cafe on Friday, March 23. Really, the only way to truly understand is to watch a video, so here’s a random on from the glorious interwebs. It will be sort of like this, but hopefully with much more heckling:
This is the website for Bike!Bike!Southeast 2012, taking place in Birmingham, Alabama March 23-25. Keep your eye on this page; we will update as the details get worked out.
